What You'll Do
As an Autonomous Vehicle Safety Driver, you will:
Operate autonomous vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic laws
Collect critical data on vehicle performance and environmental conditions
Monitor autonomous driving systems during real-world testing
Remain alert and prepared to respond to unexpected driving situations
Conduct daily vehicle inspections and readiness checks
Complete detailed reports to support ongoing technology development
Collaborate with engineers, operations leaders, and riders by providing feedback and observations
Help ensure the safety of all road users during testing operations
Available Schedules
Tuesday – Saturday
40 hours per week (8-hour shifts)
AM Shift Options:
5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
5:30 AM – 2:00 PM
6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
PM Shift Options:
3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
4:00 PM – 12:30 AM
Friday – Monday
40 hours per week (10-hour shifts)
AM Shift:
4:30 AM – 3:00 PM
PM Shift:
2:30 PM – 1:00 AM
Note: New hires will begin on either the 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM shift or the 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM shift, based on hiring needs.
Qualifications
Required
Minimum of 3 years holding a valid U.S. driver's license
Clean driving record with no DUI, drug-related, or alcohol-related offenses within the past 5 years
Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High attention to detail and sense of responsibility
Ability to remain focused and distraction-free for extended periods
Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and on different road types
Preferred
Knowledge of vehicle systems and control technologies
Experience working with autonomous vehicles
Defensive driving training or safe-driving certifications
Motorsport or advanced driving experience
