Pay: $45–$50/hour
Schedule: Full-time (40 hrs/week), Mon–Fri, 8:00am–5:00pm (weekends/OT possible based on build needs)


About the Role

We’re helping our client hire a highly motivated, detail-oriented Engineering Technician to support the design, buildout, testing, and maintenance of test rigs and vehicle platforms. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of day-to-day technical execution and help keep vehicles moving through builds quickly and safely.

Business priority: We need to outfit vehicles with Gen2 tech ASAP—speed, accuracy, and organization matter.


What You’ll Do

  • Troubleshoot vehicle systems, sensors, and computer components using root-cause analysis and calibration methods

  • Assemble prototypes, electrical wiring, and cable assemblies based on engineering instructions

  • Read and work from electrical schematics and datasheets

  • Write/maintain detailed assembly procedures for repeatable builds

  • Support a safe, efficient lab environment by minimizing vehicle downtime

  • Manage inventory for components and lab supplies (accurate tracking + organization)

  • Own procurement for key parts, coordinate orders, and maintain supplier relationships


Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years technical experience in mechanical, electrical, computer, automotive, robotics, or similar hands-on environments

  • Proven ability to build and rework harnesses/cable assemblies and perform electrical wiring to spec

  • Soldering skills and high-quality workmanship in shop/lab/assembly settings

  • Experience with shop equipment, 3D printers, and automotive diagnostic tools

  • Strong organization, documentation, and communication skills

  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment; eager to learn new technologies


Nice-to-Have (Ideal Profile)

  • Familiarity with Python (or other scripting) for troubleshooting/automation

  • Working knowledge of Linux and ROS

  • CNC/machining, metalworking, or welding experience

  • Automotive repair/maintenance background

  • Hands-on experience with AV sensors: LiDAR, radar, cameras

  • Ability to design and prototype custom harness cables

  • CAD familiarity (SolidWorks preferred) for viewing/modifying 3D models
