Container Truck Driver – Local Routes (Freeport, TX)

Hiring Area

• Within 30 miles of Freeport, TX.

Lanes

• Primary routes: Freeport to Houston.
• Occasional routes: Dallas area.

Compensation & Miles

• Mileage Pay: $0.50 per mile 
• Average Weekly Miles: 1,500 miles.
• Hourly Pay: $20 per hour (overtime $30 for anything over 40 hrs/week)

Schedule

• 5-6 days per week.
• Start times: 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM.

Home Time

• Drivers are home daily.

Equipment

• 2023 day cabs and 2022 sleeper tractors.

Freight Type

• Drop and hook containers.
• Live load/unload of containers.

Truck Speed

• Trucks are governed at 65 mph.

Bonus Structure

• New Hire Transition Bonus: $500 (paid in full on second paycheck).

Accessorial Pay

• Local delivery routes:
  • Paid miles.
  • Drop and Hook: $8.62 per occurrence.
  • Stop Pay: $34.50 per stop.
  • Delay Pay: Hourly rate after 2-hour wait.
• Local port work: Paid hourly with overtime after 40 hours.

Requirements

• Experience: 6 months of container experience.
• Physical Labor: Regular connecting/disconnecting of 10-12 containers daily, and chassis inspections.
