Build the Technology Behind Autonomous Vehicles
We’re hiring Autonomous Vehicle Technicians in Austin to support the retrofit, integration, and production of autonomous vehicle systems.
This is a hands-on automotive technician role for candidates with mechanical and electrical experience who enjoy troubleshooting vehicles, installing components, working with tools, and following technical procedures.
You’ll work alongside engineering, quality, and operations teams to help prepare and maintain vehicles used in autonomous driving development.
What You’ll Do
Install and integrate sensors, wiring harnesses, compute modules, and AV hardware
Perform vehicle retrofits, hardware updates, and system integrations
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues
Use multimeters, diagnostic equipment, and mechanical/electrical tools
Perform rework and correct build issues
Read and follow wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and SOPs
Maintain accurate documentation of completed work
Maintain tools, equipment, and inventory
Work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams
What We’re Looking For
Hands-on automotive, mechanical, or electrical experience
Experience using mechanical/electrical tools and diagnostic equipment
Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams or technical drawings
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced workshop or production environment
Strong attention to detail
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work on vehicles for extended periods
Valid driver’s license required — a copy must be provided with your application
Experience That’s a Plus
Automotive service or vehicle repair
EV or hybrid vehicle systems
Autonomous vehicle technology
LiDAR, radar, or camera sensors
Low-voltage or high-voltage electrical systems
Wiring harnesses, connectors, or electronic modules
Vehicle retrofit or installation work
Soldering, crimping, or basic fabrication
Electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting
Important
This position is hands-on and vehicle-focused. We are looking for candidates with mechanical/electrical experience working directly with vehicles or technical equipment.
IT Technician experience alone is not a match for this position.

Round 1: 30-minute virtual interview
Round 2: 1-hour in-person skills assessment
