About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, engineering-focused Vehicle Technician to support fleet readiness, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair operations for an innovative autonomous mobility company.
This role is ideal for a highly skilled automotive technician with strong diagnostic, electrical, and mechanical expertise who thrives in a fast-paced fleet operations environment. You will collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure vehicles are safe, reliable, and ready for on-road testing and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle diagnostics, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance
- Execute high-quality repairs according to work instructions and OEM standards
- Conduct multi-point inspections and system checks to ensure vehicle safety and reliability
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, hybrid, and high-voltage vehicle systems
- Configure, maintain, diagnose, and sign off vehicles for safe on-road operation
- Inspect and test completed repairs as part of Quality Control (QC) procedures
- Escalate advanced technical issues to engineering teams when necessary
- Document repairs, findings, diagnostics, and service reports in specialized service platforms
- Support fleet readiness, workshop operations, and maintenance optimization initiatives
- Maintain tools, equipment, parts inventory, and organized shop facilities
- Follow OSHA, safety, hazardous waste, and PPE compliance standards
- Travel locally as needed to support fleet operations and vehicle deployments
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of automotive technician, fleet maintenance, or diagnostic repair experience
- Extensive knowledge of automotive systems, repair methods, tools, and diagnostics
- Strong experience with vehicle troubleshooting, inspections, and preventative maintenance
- Experience working with hybrid drivetrains, HV systems, HVAC, chassis, cooling, and suspension systems
- Knowledge of CAN/LIN systems, embedded modules, and vehicle sensor systems
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot Linux-based systems
- Clean driving record and valid driver’s license
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Reliable, detail-oriented, self-starter with strong problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE Certification and/or manufacturer certification
- Technical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in Automotive Technology
- Experience supporting autonomous vehicle (AV) fleets or advanced mobility platforms
- Familiarity with self-driving systems and sensor stacks
- Experience optimizing fleet maintenance operations and OEM service processes
- Ability to travel locally and occasionally nationally
