Job Overview

An autonomous vehicle company is hiring a CDL A Driver Tester to operate and test semi-trucks and other vehicles with advanced driver-assistance and self-driving technology.

This role combines professional driving with testing and feedback for engineering teams.

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate semi-trucks, straight trucks, and passenger vehicles
• Test driver-assist and self-driving features (on-road and closed course)
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections (DVIRs)
• Provide detailed feedback on vehicle performance
• Assist with additional vehicle tasks when needed

Requirements

• Valid CDL A license and medical card
• 5+ years of Class A tractor-trailer experience
• Experience driving and backing 53’ trailers
• Clean driving record
• Ability to pass DOT requirements (drug test, MVR, physical)
• Able to pass background check and road test
• Comfortable driving for long periods
• Willing to travel up to 50%

Driving Record Requirements

• No more than 2 minor violations in the past 3 years
• No serious violations in the past 5 years
• No DUI/DWI in the past 10 years
• No preventable accidents in the past 3 years
• No major DOT accidents in the past 10 years
